Many rescues do on-site adoptions at events, where you fill out an application, do a brief interview and can take the dog home that day.
We do not work that way for several reasons. One is that adoption events can be a little \instant gratification\", with buyer's remorse later. We also do home visits as part of our process and unless you live very close to the event we would have to schedule that for another time.
