Our Valentine's Day was filled with sweetness when we met Zoe. She came to us via a rescue in Alabama that does great work (Two By Two Rescue). Zoe had shown up in someone's yard, completely emaciated, full of worms (including heartworms) and with a necrotic (rotting) tail.

She picked the right house to stop at - this wonderful family took her straight to the vet and saved her life by their willingness to do whatever it took to give this girl a chance at a new life. The vet didn't think Zoe was going to make it the first night - she was that emaciated.

It truly is amazing how resilient dogs are. With care from the vet and her wonderful saviors Zoe bounced back, quickly putting enough weight on that they vet could amputate most of her tail. In just a few short weeks Zoe has filled out and continues to heal. She will need to be spayed and have her heartworm treated, but for now she can rest and play and continue her road to recovery. We will have some before and after photos soon, so stay tuned for updates.

Didn't make a love match for Valentine's Day? Come on down this Saturday (Feb 20th) and meet some wonderful beagles at our Love A Beagle event! We'll be at The Pet Set from 11am to about 4pm, rain or shine. You'll meet Bobby and Olivia and Tallulah and Polly and Scout and Sherman and a number of other wonderful beagles looking for permanent homes.

Not quite ready for the commitment? How about fostering? Come down and talk to us about our foster program and what's involved. Fostering is not as hard as you might think and the rewards are immense.
