Manny has discovered that around here, you've got to work for your time with the belly rubs. I do a lot of stretching in the morning since I spend a lot of my day sitting in front of a computer. That is the best time for the dogs to get attention since I'm down on the floor. This morning I was stretching and rubbing chins and scratching ears when suddenly Manny trotted in and plopped himself down next to me and gave me the patented pathetic beagle look. Normally he comes out of his crate in the morning and finds a dog bed and parks himself there, but I guess he's decided that he too needs some quality time with me too and he's not going to wait for me to come to him.

Every moment I spend with Manny make me want to find such a good home for him - not because we don't want him here, but because he's so awesome! People overlook senior dogs, or dogs with "something wrong", like Manny's bad eye, and it's a total shame. Manny is a wonderful, wonderful dog who is great with kids and other dogs and is happy and healthy and has good years left to give to someone.

How such a rockin' dog ended up a stray we'll never know. He has obviously been well-loved in his past and we just hope that someone else will make sure he's well-loved for the rest of his life.
