Many rescues do on-site adoptions at events, where you fill out an application, do a brief interview and can take the dog home that day.

We do not work that way for several reasons. One is that adoption events can be a little "instant gratification", with buyer's remorse later. We also do home visits as part of our process and unless you live very close to the event we would have to schedule that for another time.

We also want to make sure that during the home visit we have time to really address all questions and give the dog time to sniff out your house and meet every member of the family in a non-chaotic environment. Adoption days can be a little crazy, especially since with lots of strange people coming up and sometimes other dogs and lots of noise, etc.

We do absolutely encourage people to stop by and meet us and fill out an application and have an interview. We view ourselves more as a match-making service and the better we know you the better we know which dog will really be right for you.
