Atlanta Beagle Rescue is not a shelter. We do not have a shelter facility. All our dogs are housed in foster homes. We are always full. The demand for placement far outstrips the adoption applications we receive. Take a moment to look at our Urgent Shelter Dog list. Those dogs are in very real danger of being euthanized simply because there is not enough room; at the shelter or with rescue groups.

If you have adopted this dog from a rescue or purchased from a breeder, you need to contact them first. Most adoption contracts (including ours) and most breeder contracts specify that you must return the dog to them if you are unable to care for it any more.

We hope that those who think they do not have enough time for their pet will re-evaluate their schedule and find the time. Dogs demand so little from us.
